Day 1: Saturday Palermo
Independent arrival at hotel. Welcome cocktail to meet the tour-guide followed by dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Sunday Palermo - Segesta - Erice - Marsala
After breakfast, leave for Segesta to visit the Doric Temple of 5th Century BC, and the Greek Theatre. Free time for lunch in Erice and visit the town of the Middle Ages. Proceed to Trapani stopping for a wine tasting and visit of the salt museum with mines and ancient windmills. Dinner and overnight in Marsala.
Day 3: Monday Marsala - Mothia Island - Selinunte - Agrigento
After breakfast depart on a boat trip to Mothia Island, the most important Phoenician colony in Sicily. Then continue to Cusa quarry. Free time for lunch in Selinunte. Visit of the Acropolis and proceed to Agrigento. Dinner at hotel and a suggestive visit by coach to the illuminated Temples. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Tuesday Agrigento - Piazza Armerina - Caltagirone - San Michele Ganzaria
After breakfast, visit to the archaeological museum and the famous Valley of the Temples. Lunch at the hotel then proceed to Piazza Armerina. Visit to the famed Roman Villa Del Casale with its 3,500 square metres of well preserved mosaics. Continue to Caltagirone, the Baroque town well known for its ceramics. Dinner and overnight in San Michele Di Ganzaria, a typical agricultural village.
Day 5: Wednesday San Michele Ganzaria - Pantalica - Palazzolo Acreide - Syracusa
After breakfast, leave for Pantalica. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes to walk through beautiful mountains where an ancient civilization was born during the Bronze age. Proceed to Palazzolo Acreide, the ancient Greek colony of Akrai and visit the Theatre. Lunch in a typical restaurant along the river. Proceed to Syracuse. Visit the Archaeological Museum. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 6: Thursday Syracuse - Noto - Modica - Ragusa
After breakfast, tour Syracuse including the most famous Greek theatre of Sicily, the legendary Dyonisius Ear, the Roman amphitheatre, the Latomie. Visit the island of Ortigia, historical centre of Syracuse, as well as treasure of Baroque style. Lunch on your own and leave for Noto famed for its Baroque style. Stop in Modica, also known for its Baroque architecture. Continue to Ragusa, the historical centre, which takes a special atmosphere in the evenings thanks to the contrasts between the lights of the town and its peaceful surroundings. Own arrangements for dinner. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 7: Friday Ragusa - Catania - Mt Etna Taormina
After breakfast depart for Catania, enjoy an orientation tour of the city then, conditions permitting, continue to Mt Etna, the highest and the most active volcano in Europe, climbing to 1.800 metres. Possibility of an optional excursion by cable-carto 3,000 metres. Free time for lunch, then descend and proceed to Taomina. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 8: Saturday Taormina - Messina - Reggio Calabria - Taormina
After breakfast departure for Messina, panoramic visit of the city and depart for Reggio di Calabria by hydrofoil or ferry. Visit of the museum with the famous Bronziof Riace. Continue to Taormina. Free time for lunch. Visit of the Greek Theatre. Time at leisure. Dinner and overnight and hotel.
Day 9: Sunday Taormina area - Lipari - Vulcano - Lipari
After breakfast depart for Milazzo then board hydrofoil or ferry to Lipari, the greatest among the Aeolian islands. Visit of the village and possibility of visiting the Archaeological Museum (optional). Free time for lunch. Continue to Vulcanoand visit the village. Return to Lipari. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Monday Lipari - Stromboli - Lipari
After breakfast, free time to enjoy the village. Free time for lunch. After lunch optional excursion to Stromboli (to be paid for locally) with its volcano and the Solara and to enjoy the village. Return to Lipari. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 11: Tuesday Lipari - Tindari - Santo Stefano Camastra - Tusa
Breakfast at the hotel, with the morning and lunch at leisure. After lunch, embark for Milazzo, then proceed to Capo D'Orlando, stopping en route in Tindari to view the sand-tongues and the old town ruins and small stop in Santo Stefano di Camastra, famous for its ceramics. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Tusa.
Day 12: Wednesday Tusa - Castelbuono - Cefalu - Solunto - Palermo
After breakfast, travel to Castelbuono a small village in the Sicilian inland. Visit the Cathedral and castle built by the Ventimiglia family. Proceed to Cefalu and visit the Cathedral. Own arrangements for lunch and then continue to the archaeological park of Solunto. Proceed to Palermo for dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 13: Thursday Palermo
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit the archaeological museum and walk in the historical centre of the town visiting the Martorana Church, San Cataldo, the Praetoria Square and the Four Corners. Free time for lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Own arrangements for dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 14: Friday Palermo
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit the Palatine Chapel, the Cathedral, St John of the Hermits and Monreale with its exquisite Cathedral and Cloister. Free time for lunch. Afternoon visit Catacombs and Mondelli. Farewell dinner at hotel and overnight.
Day 15: Saturday Palermo
Breakfast at the hotel. End of the tour.
